When dogs get muscle cramps it is usually associated with exertion or dehydration. If it occurs repeatedly, I would seek the advice of your veterinarian. If he has hip issues, make sure not to overdo walks or hikes. Condition him slowly. If you don’t already have him on a good joint supplement and fish oil, consider speaking with your vet or local pet retailer for recommendations. Fish oil has been proven to greatly enhance the benefits of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate (both beneficial for arthritis/joint support).
